Succinctly Yours - Valentine's Day Vignettes

Word of the week: zoom

Torn Between Two Loves
When she was with Albert, Anne’s heart went BOOM BOOM, but when she was running her specialty paper business, her heart went ZOOM ZOOM.

Will Luv Conquer All?
Anne was quite fond of William, but his spelling was atrocious…Could she overlook “i luv you ann” in the Valentine he gave her?

Con Men and Smart Girls
Smooth, charming…he said all the right things. Mysterious, tall, dark, handsome…Anne was falling for him. But could he support a family?

Desperate Measures
But honey, with the money I get from the bank robbery you’ll be able to get the surgery you need so that you can lift your head up straight.

I'm Still Alive at Sixty-Five
Jerry took me out for a pre-birthday lunch on Sunday. My birthday is actually Monday, Feb. 11th, but Jerry will be gone for much of the day Monday so we celebrated a day early at one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, Casa Ramos in Placerville.

We each had the macho shredded beef burrito...It's so big, I could only eat half of it and I took the other half home. It was cheesy, spicy, meaty and scrumptious.

One thing I love about Casa Ramos (in addition to their great food) is that if it's your birthday, the waiters put a huge sparkly sombrero on your head, sing birthday songs to you in Spanish and in English, take your picture and present it to you in a card along with lots of smiling, clapping and laughing...such fun, and they make you feel special. It's a family-run business with about 4 or 5 restaurants in NorCal.

Grandma's Goulash is hosting a microfiction meme called "Succinctly Yours," where you can write either a 140-character or 140-word micro-story based on the photo she posts and/or the word of the day, so you have plenty of room to be creative! Join the fun at Grandma's Goulash.

Happy Birthday Pat! You share your birthday with a long term good friend of mine. I'll be taking her to high tea on Valentine's Day as she is going out to dinner with other friends the next two days. It sounds like you had a very fun place to enjoy your day. xx

They're all nice as usual, Pat.

Since I'm a spelling nut I will vote for # 2 at the best. Followed by the money for 'head straightening.' I had not noticed that her head was not screwed on straight.

Belated, but most sincere Happy Birthday wishes to you, Pat. I enjoyed hearing about your birthday dinner, but now I can only think about Mexican food. :D

I love your trio, Pat. Lots of things for a girl to consider before tying the knot.

Of course, if she's just looking for a rich guy, Jerry has provided the answer! Her head really does have an odd tilt.
