Succinctly Yours - Happy New Year

Word of the week: offend

You Got To Know When To Hold 'em
June had determined not to offend Fred by telling him how ridiculous he looked with his fake long nose, but she couldn’t keep from laughing.
(140) - Pat

Know When To Fold 'em
Berta knew that Will was not telling the truth when he put on his long nose, but she loved him anyway.
(132) - Pat

Know When To Walk Away
This Halloween party’s gone on long enough. We’ve gotta go home.
(65) - Jerry

And Know When To Have Fun
Hal and Barb toasted their first anniversary. Barb grinned, knowing Hal would never forget the time or date, midnight on January 1, 1944.
(138) - Pat

Grandma's Goulash is hosting a microfiction meme called "Succinctly Yours," where you can write either a 140-character or 140-word micro-story based on the photo she posts and/or the word of the day, so you have plenty of room to be creative! Join the fun at Grandma's Goulash.

What a fine quartet of tales. Jerry, I got a fine chuckle from your story. I loved all of them, Pat, particularly the titles, but the last one really rang a bell. I did forget my first anniversary, although my husband did not. A bit of role reversal, I guess. Wishing both of you the best in the coming year.
