Vulture pecking order
Strolling along Oak Lane by our house, I saw several turkey vultures waiting their turn to eat some of the deer carcass (lying off to the right on the side of the Oak Lane reservoir levee).
Only one vulture would eat at a time, so I deduced that there is a definite pecking order in their dining routine.
I think it's the biggest alpha male who eats first and when he's full, then the next strongest bird can eat.
I was getting too close for their comfort, so they began to fly to safety up in the oak trees. That black blur above the standing vulture is a vulture who decided it was time to take off....
...and wait for the dangerous paparazzi to go away.

I am glad you got some pictures of all this activity.I don't think Vultures are the most beautiful, but they are interesting.I photograph them at every opportunity.
