A yell came from downstairs..."IT'S SNOWING!" Jerry's announcement made me run to a window to see it, and sure enough, the beautiful white stuff was falling down in big fat flakes and bunches of flakes. It's always very exciting here in Garden Valley to have snow because we hardly ever have any. Some years we never have any snow. But on this day, March 3rd, we were treated to a snow show.

Without the flash, the falling snow looks like ghostly icicles falling from the sky. These are the dwarf golden arborvitas bordering the back yard.

With the flash it looks more like lit candles floating to the earth.

The view of our driveway...The flash makes snowflakes that are closer to me look like big glowing orbs.

"...silent things: the falling snow...the hour before the dawn..." Adelaide Crapsey

"Words like winter snowflakes." (Homer in
the Iliad)

"Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow." (Psalm 51:7)

"Come now, let us reason together," says the Lord. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow..." (Isaiah 1:18)
An hour later, all the snow was gone, but it was pretty while it lasted!

Your pictures show a beauty that only God can create.I'm glad He gave you this,if only for a short time.

An hour and it was gone? Oh I so need to trade places with you. Yikes! I love snow pictures - it looks so incongruous with those trees!
Michelle: You'd like the mild winters, but I doubt if you'd like the inconvenience of having to drive 45 minutes to a shopping area (i.e., department stores, big box stores, malls)! I've just gotten used to it after 31 years here.
