Mount Shasta California

We're driving along Interstate 5 in northern California right now and I just took some pictures of these ancient volcanoes.

The majestic Mount Shasta, a long-dormant volcano. It almost always has snow on it, even on the hottest day in August.

This smaller volcano is right by the freeway. It looks like it's all lava rock.

It might be called a cinder cone. Does anyone know?
